ADDICTS & THOSE WHO LOVE THEM

Antonia Rolls - Artist, Creator

Addicts & Those Who Love Them “behind every addict is someone traumatised by loving them” is an exhibition of paintings & words from and of addiction. It has been hugely successful twice at the Brighton Fringe and is sponsored by Drug Science founded by Professor David Nutt & the charity Adfam. The founder of The Loop, Professor Fiona Measham (portrait painting shown) is a part of the exhibition with her own story. Antonia has portraits and stories from mothers, from children (now grown) of alcoholics, from drug users (now clean) & from users who find it hard to stop.

Antonia will talk about the reality of addiction (for example only 10% of people drinking & drug taking become addicted), how to spot the signs, where to find support & how to keep a sense of perspective. She will bring along a couple of her paintings & talk about the stories of the people in them.

For more details please see Antonia’s website here & a vox pop podcast Drawn To A Deeper Story by podcaster Cath Brew, where she interviews people who visit the exhibition and finds out what they think here.
