OCCAM’S RAZOR: SETTING A STEADY FINANCIAL COURSE FOR THE LONG TERM

DANE HALLING - ARCTURUS WEALTH MANAGEMENT

"Entities are not to be multiplied without necessity" William of Ockham (an early version of the KISS principle in philosophical form).  Occam's razor is the problem-solving principle that recommends searching for explanations constructed with the smallest possible set of elements. It is also known as the principle of parsimony or the law of parsimony.

What is this talk about? Dane will be focusing on a dozen or so important useful & stimulating principles & guidelines as you consider (in those rare moments!) your finances - in the here & now, as well as the finances of the unknown future ‘you’ (yes the future ‘you’ that will be along sooner than you might imagine!).

If you find investments & pensions - & especially markets - baffling, are even a bit phased by numbers, this should be a useful talk. Whatever your relationship to money, Dane will do his best to ensure there will be some learnings to take away with you.

About Dane: Dane has been involved in markets for over 30 years since leaving the Royal Navy in the late 1980s & currently own a small private client advisory, he supports individuals & families with their long term planning, investment & pension decisions. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) & a member of the UK Sustainable Investment & Finance Association (UKSIF).
